Desert Eye (8.25x11in.)
Desert Eye by: Nathan Mellott ~8x10in, ink and paint on paper, frame not included
Detailsblack ink, paper from s.korea, acrylic quill paints. traversing the desert for meaning is a popular subject of symbolism. i believe i made this when living in Astoria, Queens and waiting tables at danny browns wine bar in Forest Hills, Queens. I was subletting around the corner from ditmars blvd and 23rd st. near hell gate bridge; it was a subterranean apt. with a small work space/cupboard room next to the laundry and rear door. other pieces in this style and from this book of paper are likely from the same room and timeline in the summer of 2008.
